Wick's Well

A man named Lum Wick began the community of Wick's Well. Many years ago, no one's sure how many, Wick owned a grocery store on the corner of what is now Wicks Well Road, as well as a great deal of the land in the area. The grocery store was located almost immediately across from the present day location of the Wicks Well Grocery.

While today's store sells gas, baseball cards and several other items, the store of yesterday was well known for selling mineral water. The well pump was located on the front porch of the grocery store and people came from all around to buy water from the well.

The area is residential today, with the exception of the grocery store. All signs of the old grocery are gone except for a small slab of concrete that marks the place of the old mineral well.
