- I am seeking *any*
information (please!) about Minatree TURNER, born about
1831 and buried in Green Hill Cemetery in Jackson
County. He apparently served in Co. C, 7th Kentucky
Infantry, CSA, and was married to someone named Sarah,
originally from North Carolina. One son was Robert
Lee TURNER (1876-1960) , who married Margaret TRUETT
(1877-1898); I have no information about Margaret.
One grandson was Levi TURNER (1896-1960), who married
Amanda Mae LANGDON (1899-1982); Amanda Mae was the
daughter of George Washington LANGDON (1877-1938) and
Mary Belle BOWLING (1879-1951). That's all I
know. Minatree is my wife's gg grandfather and we
have nearly no information about him, his ancestors, or
his family.

family. His ggg-grandmother was Nancy CARPENTER RUNYON.
She married Billie RUNYON. We just recently found oout
that she born in Jackson County, KY. Her father was Erve
CARPENTER. Little else is known. I would appreciate any
information any one could share with me on the CARPENTERs

- Looking for information on
Mary Susan FIELDS, my g-grandmother. On 22 July 1891, she
married James Finley SHEPHERD, in Jackson Co., at the
home of James Brownlow BINGHAM, his name is also on the
marriage license. According to LDS records, Mary Susan
FIELDS was living with J. B. & Mary (TINCHER)
BINGHAM, in the late 1880's. Mary and Finley SHEPHERD had
one son, that I know of, Charles Blaine SHEPHERD, b. 4
July 1894. By 1899-1900 James Finley SHEPHERD is living
in Laurel Co. with another woman and has a child. I have
not found a divorce rec. or death cert. Please contact me
if you have any information about Mary Susan FIELDS, I am
researching other names in Jackson Co., I would be glad
to share any information.

- I am trying to identify the
mothers and fathers of Sarah BURTON and Harrison WARDLOW.
No dates have been found yet for WARDLOW's death or
birth(due to time constraints). Sarah BURTON was born 23
January 1841 and died 19 April 1916. The date of BURTON
and WARDLOW's marriage is also presently unknown Previous
information was found on these people linking then to
Jackson County, Kentucky census records. The information
was obtained many years ago and I am trying to find the
date of birth and death of Harrison and the names, birth
and death dates of both of their parents.

- Searching for information
about the family of Stephen LANGLEY and his wife Mary
Elizabeth NORRIS. They had at least one son, Alexander
Langley, b. Aug 1, 1878, at Pond Creek, Jackson Co.,
Kentucky. Alexander Langley was in Carter County,
Oklahoma when he died in 1963. Any information would be
helpful.

the family of Alfred S. HALL, b. about 1825 in VA;
married to Sally HALL in 1840 in KY. Nine known children.
Their oldest daughter, Jane Elizabeth HALL, b. Jan 1846
in Harlan or Clay County, d. Nov 1934 in Jackson County.
Jane Elizabeth HALL married James SHACKELFORD Sep 1865,
son of Lorenzo Dow SHACKELFORD and Anaritta SPURLOCK. My
husband's grandparents are Harlan SHACKELFORD, son of
Jane Elizabeth HALL and James SHACKELFORD; and Mary Alice
SPURLOCK, believed to be daughter of Abner SPURLOCK. Any
information on any of these family connections will be
most welcome and greatly appreciated!

Son was Isaac Thornton McClanahan and granddaughter was
Nanabelle (Peggy) McClanahan. Andrew WILSON d: 1912 in
Annville, Kentucky. Children were Daniel P. Wilson, Mary
Elizabeth George W., Elisa, Harvey, Elijah, Catherine,
John S., Nancy Ellen, Martha J., and Lucinda. As of 1946,
John and Nancy were still living in Jackson Co, Kentucky.

KY. Listed in 1860 Census. Their son, Henry INGRAM, b.
3/4/1859; d. 1/18/1927, was my grandfather who later
moved to Jackson County, KY. Also looking for any
information on Dan FRAZIER & wife Sally SALIFIELD of
Letcher Co. KY. Listed in 1860 Census. Their daughter,
Jane FRAZIER, b. Unk; d. 10/1941, (my grandmother)
married Henry INGRAM, and moved to Jackson Co. Would
appreciate info on their parents, brothers, sisters,
ancestors.

Elmer GABBARD--born May 30, 1901 in Jackson County. He
had siblings by the names of Herman, Cliff, Ped, Mildred,
Coon (probably a nickname) Herbert, Earl, Ruth, &
Duey ( again a nickname).Elmer married a Clairene ERVINE
and had Elmer Jr., Charles, Jesse, and Paul. Then a
second marriage to a Louise unknown last name he had 3
children- Paul, Gary, and Connie.

Jackson County, Kentucky, list the family of William and
Elizabeth CRESS) WELLS. June 4, 1900, Kavanaugh Precinct,
#40, WELLS, William 67, Elizabeth 68,Mary L. STILL 16,
granddaughter and William MORRIS 16, boarder. Sometime in
the 1900's these two people died,they are my great
grandparents. When did they died, and where are they
buried at? Nancy E.WELLS married Franklin STILL, 9 Dec
1875 in Jackson County, this must be the parents of Mary
L.STILL. I would appreciate any information concerning
