HALL posted by Julian Livingston on Saturday, September 13, 1997

This is a query concerning the ancestors of Eliza Ann HALL Gallup, who claimed to have
been born in Grove(Union Co?), KY. The female parent of Eliza Ann (c1820-1898) was
possibly named (Mary?) BARRI(N)GER per the back of a carte d'visite which was in the
handwriting of a very unreliable family member. Eliza was age 17 in 1837 when she married
Orrin GALLUP, (my gg-grandfather) in Spencer, IN with the permission of an unnamed
guardian, so her father was likely dead at that point. How she came to be in Owen Co. IN
then is unknown. There are several Hall families in that vicinity but no connection to them has
ever been established. I find Halls in early proximity to Barrigers in Graves County, KY. Tax
lists in Livingston Co. show early Halls as do many of the counties near Cairo, IL. There may
be Cherokee or other connections to the Halls. If anyone has any thoughts on this I would be
very grateful. I've been looking for this one for years with no success. -- Julian

FERGUSON, MATTHEWS, PEW, PRICE, PUGH posted by Debbie (Price) Leigh on Thursday, September 4, 1997

I am researching the PRICE family of Kentucky. John PRICE immigrated in 1620 on the
Starr and married Ann MATTHEWS. He had a John and he had a John. The 3rd John
     married Jane PUGH(PEW. They had a PUGH(PEW), then PUGH(PEW) had a
PUGH(PEW). The 2nd Pew had a Bird PRICE 1755-1829. He had a Thomas who married
Elizabeth FERGUSON and died in 1847. Their children were Gabriel, George, James,
Milton, Woodson, Martha Ann, Susan, Hulda, Eliza. I'm not sure which one of Thomas's
children is my line, but I think its Milton because my great-great grandfather and my
grandfather are Benjamin Milton, Sr. and Benjamin Milton, Jr. I'd be tickled pink if anyone
has anything they can give me or can tell me where I can look for these people. Thanks
