Paul Hayes

Paul E. Hayes, 49, a Prestonsburg attorney and a well-known figure in Floyd County Democratic affairs, was killed Monday night when his car left Route 144 between Salyersville and Prestonsburg and overturned.

Hayes' wife, Lucy, 45, was taken to Prestonsburg General Hospital where she was reported to be in satisfactory condition this morning.

Hayes was a former state representative and ran for the offices of county attorney and circuit judge. He was active in the administration of former Governor's Edward Breathitt and Bert Combs.

Marshall C. Blair

Services for Marshall C. Blair, 47, of Route 3, who died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, will be conducted at Harrod Bros. Memorial Chapel at 1 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Dan Crawley, pastor of the East Frankfort Baptist Church. Burial will be in the family lot, Cedar Grove Cemetery, Scott County. Bearers will be Charles Hardin, Wilbur Brown, Ben Hellard, Robin Mumford, Gary Brown and Ricky Carrier.
