Two Men Killed In Motor Crash
Mt. Vernon, Ky., July 23--A motor collision killed two men and
badly injured a girl nine miles north of here tonight. One car rolled
off the road and tumbled thirty feet down an embankment to the
Louisville and Nashville railway tracks. The dead were Shorty Fowler,
40, fire chief at Corbin, Ky., and J. E. Strong, 30, of Corbin. Miss
Artie Crider, 19, was badly injured.

Than Pelever's Funeral Will Be Held Tomorrow
Funeral services for Than Peveler, 68, who died Monday night, will
be held tomorrow afternoon at Montezuma, Ind., with interment in that
city. A funeral cortege bearing the body will leave here this morning
at 6 o'clock for Montezuma.

Mrs. Graves
Mrs. Eva Thompson Graves, 93, of Route 5, widow of James Graves,
died at 3:40 a.m. Saturday in the King's Daughters' Hospital following
a long illness.
A native of Anderson County, she was born April 18, 1897. She
was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Graves, Frankfort; Mrs.
Anna Crow, Willisburg, and Mrs. Letitia Meyerhofer, Tuscon, Ariz.; 5
grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted in Rogers Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday
by the Rev. Phillip Ball. Burial will be in the family lot, Frankfort
Cemetery.
Tommie Penn, Ray Snow, J. W. Thurmond, Jack Snow, Roxie Thompson,
and James Hatfield will be bearers.

Lillian Caswell
Miss Lillian Caswell, 20 years old, died late last Wednesday
afternoon at the Johnson Memorial Hospital, where she had been seriously
ill for three weeks. Miss Caswell was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ora
Caswell, who reside on the Headquarters pike. Besides her parents she
is survived by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held at the Headquarters Methodist Church
Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. A. Sweazy, paster of the Carlisle
Methodist church, and burial followed in the Carlisle Cemetery.
